Do You Know What's On Your Food?
18-Jul-2009
I was excited to stumble upon a website that provides information about the types of pesticides on fruits, vegetables and meat. What's On My Food? is a "searchable database designed to make the public problem of pesticide exposure more visible and understandable." Then I became not so excited because it meant forcing myself into isolation from the world -- how can I eat in another restaurant again? Fifteen minutes later, common sense kicked in...isn't it more important to have 5 daily servings of fruits and veggies (with or without pesticides) as opposed to no veggies at all? I'm hoping organic restaurants and organic fast food chains will be the next big trend. The question still remains, what's on our food? Visit www.whatsonmyfood.org for more information.
